The ecological-rough center, Centre Guélawé, is a nucleus of formation and experimentation on sustainable and biological agriculture and cattle; a school to train small farmers.
The field of training and experimentation stretches in about 7 hectares of flat ground and 25 hectares in hill given by Loto (village that became a district of the city of Diebougou).
The courses of formation will be free and opened to all. The instructors of the Centre were, in beginning, italians. At present, with the Program of Voluntary Service launched by the Ministry of the Youth of Burkina Faso and supported by the program of United Nations, we shall like to recruit technicians on place who assume the leadership of the project and work in perfect collaboration with international volunteers.
The Centre Guélawé is shaped as a multifunctional structure and taking as zone of principal intervention the comune of Diébougou, but it will be enabled to attend also other zones of Burkina Faso. The centre will provide following services:

• Accommodation with health-hygienic services, for students and teachers; ·
• multifunctional room;
• Gardens social-culturals;
• Laboratories of craftwork for the formation and auto-production of materials and objects of common use;
• Stores, lofts and laboratories of transformation of farm produce particularly for drying of fruits and vegetables, trituration, etc.;
• Educational room and library;
• Land for cultivation and experimentation of fruit trees (domesticate them) and vegetable gardens.

This project of rough-ecology is inspired in the ideas and philosophy of the young revolutionary president Thomas Sankara murdered in 1987, which governed the Country for five years, from 1983. During his mandate, Sankara stimulated the development of the Country through the exploration of the local resources, which he considerate the only alternative to acquire a growth of agrarian productiveness, animal husbandry and the quality of life.
In this similar mind the ecological-rough project is born, in 2004, in the village of Loto, across a series of processes of cooperation between international volunteers and burkinabé citizens. The centre intends to operate respecting the local realities and valuing the traditional techniques of construction of Burkina Faso, in road of extinction to the advantage of modern architecture.

• Two wells, one with mechanical bomb and another one with great diameter;
• An unique construction in tradicional stile divided in seven parts, with a cellar and a large room; the complex is used for training, as laboratory of transformation and conservation of products. Other realizations are already in works;
• A round traditional house, four lofts, a vegetable garden, sanitary installations and a system of recovery of waters of showers, by filter sistem, for irrigation of the trees.

• Another two programs of reforestation, by creating an orchard with mango, almond and chestnut, orange trees, karité and other wild fruits trees, that we are trying to domesticate;
• Literacy tuition financing plan to insert poor children in the scholastic education;
• Financing of a program of environmental education in the elementary school of Loto (cultivation of trees), to promote the reforestation in loco and other zones of Burkina Faso;
• Financing of a itinerant canteen in the schools (daily, the Centre already distributes bread and jam to the children of each class).
